The reason is because it's the most accessible part and has the most amenities like the Grand Canyon Hotel, shopping, dining, etc. As with all sides of the Grand Canyon, the South Rim features astounding views of what took Mother Nature and the Colorado River millions and millions of years to carve. This is why it has earned the distinction as one of the world's Seven Wonders.
